FredWreck: From Southern California To The Arab World

March 10, 20242 min read

The West Coast producer has been the mastermind behind some of today’s hottest songs. Farid “FredWreck” Nassar found his love for hip-hop at an early age when he began breakdancing and DJ’ing in Southern California. He rose to fame after handing out a personal mixtape, which eventually landed in the hands of legendary rapper Dr. Dre. He traveled through the Middle East, getting immersed in the hip-hop phenomenon spreading through the Arab World, and worked with some fabulous artists, some of whom have moved on to bigger things like Qusai, Arabian Knightz, and Malikah. Malikah, along with member of the 961 Underground Family MC Zoog, was chosen by MTV Arabia as one of the two best emcees in Lebanon for their flagship program, Hip Hop Na/Our Hip Hop.
FredWreck heavily promoted Arab hip hop in the United States. In 2009, he hosted a weekly Arabic Hip Hop Show called “Beit el Hip Hop” or “The House of Hip Hop” beside the Saudi Arabian hip hop artist Qusai aka Don legend the Kamelion.

In the fall of 2016, VH1 premiered a new show with Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, and FredWreck called Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, featuring games, recipes, and musical guests. FredWreck, Snoop, and Martha later starred together in commercials for 7up and Snickers. In a 2016 interview with The New York Times, Martha called Fred “Her new best friend.”
